When Pausing Became Part of the Plan

When Pausing Became Part of the Plan

It’s been a few months since I’ve written here.

And strangely enough, I think the quiet between these posts has become part of the story of Serene Dragonfly.

Earlier this year, I wrote a lot about slowing down. About not forcing growth. About trusting that something can be moving even when you can’t quite see it yet.

Then I had to actually live those words.

I reached a point where I knew I needed to stop pushing Serene Dragonfly and simply let it breathe.

So I did.

I stepped back from trying to make the online store work. I stopped feeling like I needed to constantly advertise, chase sales, add more products, or figure out every detail of what Serene Dragonfly was supposed to become.

I knew there was a much bigger vision for Serene Dragonfly in my heart, but I didn’t know exactly how I was supposed to get from where I was to where I felt God was leading me.

So instead of forcing an answer, I waited.

And somewhere in that waiting, things started changing.

Ideas began connecting.

Conversations happened.

Opportunities started appearing that I hadn't planned.

And little by little, Serene Dragonfly began moving again.

One of the biggest steps is coming this October, when Serene Dragonfly will officially have a vendor space inside Rabbit Creek Market.

And I am genuinely excited about it.

Instead of trying to reach people completely through a screen, Serene Dragonfly will have a physical little space of its own — somewhere people can actually walk in, look around, pick something up, and experience a little piece of what I’ve been creating.

Even better, it has opened the door for me to think differently about what I offer.

I’m working on new items, bringing more creativity into the business, and connecting with other local makers to create pieces that fit the heart of Serene Dragonfly.

Some things will be handmade.

Some will be created through collaborations.

Some will simply be peaceful little things I find that feel like they belong.

And yes… there will definitely be dragonflies. 🦋

But what excites me most is that Rabbit Creek doesn’t feel like the final destination.

It feels like a step.

A very intentional one.

Because behind all of these smaller pieces is still a much bigger dream for Serene Dragonfly.

That part I’m keeping tucked away just a little longer. 😉

A few people know the bigger vision, and I’ve had people ask me exactly what I’m trying to build with all of this.

The truth is, I know what I see at the end.

I just don’t know every step that will take me there.

And I think I’m finally okay with that.

For the first time, I’m beginning to see how the smaller pieces might connect to the bigger picture.

Rabbit Creek.

Creating.

Working with other people.

Learning what people love.

Growing slowly.

Building relationships.

And allowing Serene Dragonfly to become something naturally instead of trying to force it into a plan simply because I think I should have one.

That has probably been the biggest lesson for me.

Sometimes moving with intention doesn’t look like constantly moving forward.

Sometimes it looks like stopping.

Waiting.

Listening.

Letting go of the timeline.

And trusting God enough to leave some space for Him to show you the next step.

I still don't have every answer.

Serene Dragonfly is still becoming.

I’m still becoming too.

But I’m beginning to understand that I was never supposed to have the entire road figured out before taking the journey.

I just needed to recognize the next step when it appeared.

And right now?

There are steps appearing.

There is movement.

There is excitement.

And there are some really beautiful things beginning to unfold.

So after a few quiet months, I think it’s finally time to say…

Serene Dragonfly is moving again.

Not rushed.

Not forced.

But with intention.

And I cannot wait to show you where it goes from here.
